Tillamook County Creamery Association Receives Prestigious 2019 Velocity Award

Award Honors Dairy Brand’s Supply Chain Transformation Initiative to Support Strategic Growth and Geographic Expansion
ATLANTA – April 16, 2019 – Logility, Inc., a leading provider of collaborative supply chain optimization and advanced retail planning solutions, is pleased to announce Tillamook County Creamery Association has received the prestigious 2019 Velocity Award (Photo). Presented at the 2019 Velocity Conference, the award highlights a company that has demonstrated exceptional innovation in its effort to implement a digital supply chain initiative that significantly improves operations and creates a platform for growth.

Tillamook, an Oregon-based dairy producer, operates in a capital-intensive industry with multiple manufacturing and co-manufacturing sites across the United States that serve its domestic and international markets. The company initiated its supply chain transformation initiative to gain end-to-end visibility and create a platform for dynamic business growth. To succeed, the Tillamook team established a strong foundation for digital supply chain planning and growth: a robust planning platform with expanded visibility and analytics to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and make proactive adjustments as needed. The supply chain team developed new processes, instituted advanced education and training for the stakeholders and implemented Logility Voyager Solutions™ as the platform for digital supply chain optimization.

“Tillamook has a rich and storied history of offering the highest quality dairy products available to consumers,” said Michael Bever, executive vice president of operations, Tillamook County Creamery Association. “Our strategic growth plans require greater visibility and a flexible platform for both digital and operational supply chain success. Logility has been a key partner in support of our long-term goals and we look forward to new opportunities in the future. We are honored to receive this recognition for the Tillamook team’s hard work to ensure every customer is able to enjoy our quality products.”

Tillamook manufactures in multiple locations with many distribution points which requires precise visibility into demand, supply and inventory. Since the start of the project, Tillamook has achieved impressive results including a 25 point increase in forecast accuracy, up to 99 percent fill rate and up to a 75 percent decrease in finished goods inventory for cheeses. This enhanced level of visibility allows Tillamook to identify new or expanded distribution opportunities and quickly take advantage of them. In addition, the team is better able to turn multiple sources of information into actionable insights that drive the company’s sales and planning activities. Through the use of advanced analytics, the supply chain team is now able to focus on higher-value issues that align with corporate goals and deliver exceptional product quality and service.

“Tillamook has transformed its supply chain into a platform for rapid growth and differentiation in a highly competitive market,” said Allan Dow, president, Logility. “We congratulate Tillamook on their digital and operational supply chain transformation and the tangible benefits they have achieved to help drive success, support the company’s strategic expansion and drive greater customer service.”
