Voyager Transportation Planning and Management facilitates the planning process by automatically optimizing orders into shipments and determining the best carriers. Users can select subsets of the solution's shipment database to evaluate options and develop optimum budgets. A built-in modeling subsystem uses historical data to analyze and model various shipment scenarios.
Visibility to all orders
Voyager Transportation Planning and Management features a centralized Load Control Center environment to provide full visibility of all inbound, inter-company and outbound orders. Users gain real-time access to order and inventory status via the Internet.
Load building/optimization
Once orders are received, they are planned using one of the industry’s leading multi-modal optimization engines. It considers your distribution strategies (multi-stop, multi-pickup, pooling, and direct) and your business rules, constraints, and carrier’s capacity to develop the optimal shipping plan. It uses true optimization technology to develop the shipping plans that utilize the best mode and carrier. It uses actual carrier rates as well as private/dedicated fleet costs and carrier equipment availability in determining its optimal solution.
For TL shippers, the optimization process determines the right loads to give to which carriers given limited equipment that results in the lowest overall cost. For ocean shipping, the optimization process can help determine which ports and container sizes should be used to meet delivery requirements and reduce costs..
Mode/carrier selection
Voyager Transportation Planning and Management supports a tiered approach for determining the best transportation mode and carrier for each shipment. An electronic routing guide automatically applies user-defined rules and constraints to support the selection process. Logility's freight rating system, automatically computes carrier rates using built-in databases of rates, transit times, routes and more.
Multi-modal freight rating
Recognized as the industry's leading multi-modal rating system, Voyager Transportation Planning and Management's freight rating engine streamlines rate management and all rating/carrier selection decisions. The system supports straightforward and complex rate structures for LTL, TL, inter-modal, rail, ocean, parcel and air shipments. Logility also provides a library of industry databases. The engine can be integrated in real time to external systems that need freight cost information or carrier alternatives.
Vendor Portal - Voyager Transportation Planning and Management includes a web-based portal to allow your suppliers to provide available to ship PO information. This gives you visibility to your inbound orders. Optionally, you can provide routing instructions to your vendors as well as consider the inbound orders during the load building/optimization process.
Shipment Database - Voyager Transportation Planning and Management includes a shipment database where data about shipments are stored, managed and tracked through the entire shipping process. This central repository includes planned and actual information about shipments, the orders they contain, their products (SKU level, if required), when and how they were shipped, and the vehicles used in the transportation process.
Modeling Subsystem - Analytical and modeling tools within Transportation Planning and Management help companies uncover strategic and tactical opportunities to improve performance.
