Caribou Coffee Shares its Journey to Supply Chain Success

Live APICS Webcast Discusses Best Practices in Improving Forecast Accuracy, Supply Chain Visibility and Customer Service across Global Operations
ATLANTA — June 17, 2014 — Logility, Inc., a leading supplier of collaborative solutions to optimize the supply chain, today announced it will join Caribou Coffee in an educational APICS webcast that looks at how Caribou Coffee balances its aggressive growth initiatives across its three channels of business (retail, franchise and commercial) with challenges such as increasing new product introductions, compressed planning cycles, and the need to balance cost and service. The live event, “Supply Chain Success: More than Counting Beans at Caribou Coffee,” will begin on Tuesday, June 24 at 11:00 a.m. ET and is hosted by APICS.

Caribou Coffee needed to improve and systematize its buying process for bringing products into its distribution centers to drive better replenishment of its more than 500 locations and reduce in–store stock outs of consumables, ingredients and sellable end items. Karen Francois of Caribou Coffee and Bob Cowdrick of Logility will review the steps and keys to Caribou Coffee’s supply chain success and how Caribou Coffee was able to achieve impressive results such as a 30 percent improvement in inventory turns, above 99 percent service levels and a significant reduction in obsolete inventory.
